Parish Council Vacancies

Have you ever considered joining the Parish Council?

Following the recent elections, Long Buckby Parish Council had an uncontested election with 12 parish councillors standing, this leaves two vacant seats.

For your chance to join, please submit to the Parish Clerk your details along with a short paragraph about what you can offer to the village and there will be a vote to co-opt at the meeting on Monday 14th June 2021 at 7:30pm. Please register your interest by Friday 11th June at 5pm.

You must be willing to fully participate in our meetings, which are held monthly (2nd & 4th Mondays of the month) and have time to spare to carry out some duties in between meetings.

Eligibility to become a Parish Councillor (one of the following):

(a) is registered as a local government elector for the parish; or

(b) or has during the whole of the preceding twelve months occupied as owner or tenant, any land or premises in the parish; or

(c) his/her principal or only place of work during the preceding twelve months has been in the parish; or

(d) had during the whole of the preceding twelvemonths resided in the parish or within 4.8 km thereof.
